Border Communities Against Brexit

Border Communities Against Brexit

Formed only a year ago in the wake of the UK referendum to leave the EU, the Irish civil group Border Communities Against Brexit came to Brussels on 11th October as one of the winners of the European Citizens’ Prize 2017. After collecting their medal, they were joined by GUE/NGL’s Irish MEPs to demonstrate against the possibility of a hard border in Ireland post-Brexit.

Representing the farming, business and other communities from both sides of the border, BCAB favours a workable – perhaps unique – solution with the north of Ireland remaining in the Customs Union or the Single Market.
